Sports and Recreation Highlights

Shoe Drive: Bring your used tennis shoes to the Green Sneakers booth in the Sports and Recreation zone and they will become recycled as affordable footwear for people in need around the world and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Community Environmental Council.

Ride the wave: A 14-foot “wave” made of 6,000 single-use plastic bottles — the amount thrown away in the United States every four seconds — will be on display at the Dopper booth in the Sports & Rec zone. Also, in an effort to minimize single-use plastic, festival-goers are asked to bring their own water bottle. Refill stations are being offered by Klean Kanteen and the Water Monster.
